~ Jungle girl in training ~

another cross added to my map!
this time, my undies slipped all the way as we ran to catch the plane!
it's a good thing i had a pair of jeans that was quite secure though,
so nothing was exposed :P

it was a good trip, and i did enjoy everything,
and that includes the terrifying and painful parts!
it isn't all about enjoying, which most ppl tend to think...
it's also about growing and learning about the environment and cultures.
i reckon it's also about setting up challenges and opportunities
to experience what i'd otherwise wouldn't.

I wouldn't have ever thought about living in a jungle
but i'm really proud to have tried.
i guess not everyone's meant to be tarzan and jane...
rode on an elephant for a day into the jungle,
and the feeling was awesome!
then, you'd start questioning, 'why would such a huge animal listen to a small human?'
the buttocks, too, start to hurt and the inner thighs start to cramp~
hahaha.. the funniest thing was the moment when i sat on its neck,
and its thick poky hairs start to pierce through my pants and into my butt.
i wish i cld ride an elephant to school, or work!

life's really simple, and there weren't many rules restricting the ppl.
kids were running ard, in the village, with either their bottoms exposed or their upper body.
there was even a kid walking ard with a thick winter jacket under the hot sun!
little children were 'allowed' to hold huge sharp knifes as 'toys'
while some played with straws.
the traditional huts were impressive as they were made of straws and bamboos.

the most traumatising experience was also one of the most memorable ones.
we spent 6 hours trekking through a jungle with a guide who knew only a few words in english.
the first half was great! we came to a beautiful waterfall,
and the water was refreshing, despite its colour.

then, thinking we're about to head back, we were actually led deeper into the jungle...
to a village.
all we could do was JUST DO IT~!
it's no joke cos' in the jungle, there's no such thing as I QUIT!
halfway through, a plant smacked right onto my lips,
which gradually burnt and numb.
it's scary cos' there weren't any answers, and no one knew what plant it was...
we weren't told clearly about the day's activity, and all the guide said was,
'just another hour' (and we'll arrive at the village)
the next hour, we got stung by bees,
then followed by a snake, 'samsoons' etc.
it's exhausting to walk on without knowing the destination and the duration.
it's crazy to follow a stranger and completely trust his directions and instructions.

however, at the end of the day,
i felt really satisfied as i settled into the car.
a huge sense of relief filled my heart.
we did it!
the nature is beautiful on its own, but when nature and human come into contact,
most often than not, one is bound to get hurt.
perhaps trekking in the jungle wldn't happen again anytime soon,
cos' not everyone's meant to be tarzan and jane.
i'd still want to continue challenging myself!

P.S. bring it on :P
