~ My heart dropped ~

when your heart dropped at that split second.

that moment when you turn your back
just to hear a crash before you turn back again, stunned.

you can have a precious something,
and look after it as though it's your baby or your little chick.
wherever you go, you make sure there's enough space to place it,
you make sure to wrap it with something soft, so it doesn't get scratch.
you hold it tightly with two hands, just to make sure it's 100% (if not 200%) secured.
you wake up in the middle of the night, just to check on it.
you don't trust anyone with it, cos' there's a risk that comes with it.

then, the day comes.
you learnt to let go, you learn to trust others.
it smashed the moment you turned your back.
your heart dropped, your heart cried.
full of remorse, you wish you cld just turn back time,
and keep that precious thing in your own hands.

then again,
there must be a reason why you actually handed it over to another person.
you trust that person, and i'm sure... deep down,
you know that there's that 1% or 0.00000001% that something wld happen,
but you were still willing to trust that other person with it.
cos' perhaps, deep down, we know that this precious thing isn't as important as this person.
maybe that's why,
i cld get mad, i cld get annoyed, but i cldn't flare up.
these feelings wld go away,
and in weeks or months to come,
we'd be laughing abt it.

now, this precious thing comes with a beautiful 'scar'
it brings back memories of us.
