~ Dearest you, how have you been? ~

'Dear you, how have you been?'

I really like writing letters and receiving them,
may it be snail mail or post cards. Well, mostly emails so far:p
it's also kinda a happy thing to even receive a bill
as long as it's a letter that's addressed to you
since there's not much letters that ppl wld send to aussie.

Anw, letters... Hmmm
I like how we wld usually start with hey, hello, hi,
and sometimes even dear or dearest ______.
the cliche line that follows often ends up with 'how are you/ how have you been?'
Hahaha it may have been overused but it def starts the letter... Well:p
all those little cards we wrote for each other were like these.
"Dear ____,
how are you?"
and i quite miss those little cards but they're locked up far away right now.

this reminds me of that book i was reading before.
it's a book put together by a father who was leaving,
and he wrote to many people in the world to ask them for advice
on how he cld continue his love for his son even after his passing.
these letters were then compiled into a book for his son.
there were so many ppl that wrote back to him,
and that was when i realised how different the word 'happiness' was for everyone.
i didn't managed to finish the book but i read almost all of the letters.

when i write a letter, or rather type an email to a penpal,
it brings about an amazing feeling by the end of the letter.
after you signed off and read through it once again,
you question yourself, "why did i just tell this person so much about myself?"
you don't have to know how the person looks, or know much about the person's background,
it's like a blind trust you've created with this person,
and that feeling is amazing, or you can call it 'risky'
so much faith in the human race~ hahahahaha
some stuffs that you might not have realised about yourself
cld just come out so naturally as you type that letter.

on a side note,
i was reading this play The Pillowman recently.
it was a story within story kinda play.
each story they shared was a short yet impactful one.
each story made me stop my reading and actually ponder.
especially the pillowman story that was mentioned.
when a person just simply disappears from your side,
from your photographs, and gradually from your memory,
what wld that world be like since this person cease to exist?
it made me think about how my life wld be like without certain ppl,
and how my family and friends' lives wld be like if i were to just not exist.
even strangers - strangers that i've helped or bumped into,
wld they have met another better person, or a friend for life, or?
then, i thought of that life i saved before,
wld everything have been different?

if i was a speck of dust,
i'd be enjoying myself in mid air,
and allow the wind to take me on a travel.
i wld float into someone's nose and make them sneeze just for my pleasure,
and get shoot out from their nostrils like a rocket ride.
if i were to be a speck of dust,
i'd worry about losing the wind and falling down onto the ground.
i wld be rolling here and there just to avoid getting trampled on by human feet.
then, i'd cry for being smashed onto a gum stuck onto the roadside,
cos' i've lost my freedom to travel with the wind.
